E3X Technology

New lines or reconductoring

E3X coating can be factory-applied to conductors for new lines or reconductoring existing lines. E3X-coated conductors require no changes to installation procedures, tools, or accessories.

Retrofitting of existing lines

For retrofitting, Prysmian offers a robotic system that cleans and coats existing conductors with E3X Technology. The cleaning robot mechanically prepares the conductor, followed by a coating robot that applies the E3X coating, which cures at ambient temperature. This robotic system can be deployed on energized lines.

Can you spot the difference?

Delivering significant savings

Up to 20% Reduced Project Costs*

Optimizing conductor size or reducing sag can lead to lower costs for structures, hardware, and labor associated with new lines.

Up to 25% Increased Ampacity*

Enhancing conductor ampacity enables greater capacity on new lines and reduces reconductoring costs without upgrading existing infrastructure.

Up to 25% Lower Line Loss*

Reducing line losses by lowering operating temperatures can deliver significant long-term savings.

Up to 30% Reduced Operating Temperature*

Lower operating temperatures not only reduce power losses but also increase the power-carrying capacity, thereby improving efficiency and lowering overall system costs.

*Savings may vary based on operating conditions
